Lesley Price

Lesley has been writing songs from the age of eleven but was interested in all forms of performing arts, she soon expanded her horizons and started working as a backing vocalist in recording studios across Europe where she recorded with some of the best musicians, including “The Chris de Burgh Live Band”.

On meeting Mario, Lesley discovered that her real passion was telling musical stories and she believes that "Folk-a-Dilly Tales" is one of the finest projects she has ever worked on.

We are so proud to have all of these fine Storytellers, Actors and Musicians, involved and can't wait for you to hear each episode.

Mario Price

Mario, has been playing the violin all his life. Being brought up in a family of musical talent, his father an accomplished pianist, his mother an amazing violinist herself, his two brothers adding cello and vocals to the mix, it was something he couldn't avoid.

Over the past 12 years, he and his wife Lesley, have been writing songs, based on Folk Lore from around the UK.

Mario believes it's the best way to keep these, almost, forgotten tales alive.

Agnes Lillis

Agnes spent five months at the Cockpit Theatre before moving on to the English-speaking theatre in Hamburg. She also enjoyed two summer seasons in Jersey and performed in a pantomime on the Isle of Man. After understudying the role of Helga in the West End, she secured a six-month position in Blackpool.

She has undertaken two local tours with Eastern Angles and enjoyed sell-out performances as Sybil in Fawlty Towers with The Seagull Re. Together with her partner Tony Scannell, she ran Eastbound and Actors in Cahoots.

In the acclaimed short film PAPERCUT, she played the role of Christine. Agnes currently teaches a community acting class for adults at The Seagull Theatre.

Agnes's gentle and soft voice are perfect for some of the saddest tales in this podcast.

We are very lucky, that she agreed.

Chris Richardson

Chris has been telling stories a long time - as long as he can remember. But it has only been the last 10 years or so that he has sought out audiences to share the wonder of how things are, should be or could be in our wildest dreams.

"I find that if I'm truly going to connect with the audience, I have to connect some way with the stories I'm telling. And so while I have told tales about virtually everything under the sun, I tend to focus on what I'm close to. Geographically, I am a Suffolk boy these days, and so I tell a lot of stories about life in East Anglia, but also British and European history, folklore and myth. I'm also fascinated by people and tell many tales that live and die by their characters, particularly those with family relationships at their heart".

We are so pleased to have him on board.

Nick Murray Brown

After spending some years travelling and later working in countryside conservation, Nick swapped billhook and chainsaw boots for play text (not much cop for cutting back brambles) and jazz shoes (not as warm and hopeless trudging through mud) to train as an actor at Rose Bruford. He has hitched along the byroads, picking up lifts, often as an actor-musician, stopping off en route for composer & lyricist projects, making a documentary about Evered Wigg — Who? Yup, doubt you will have heard of him — and recording some musical albums. Drama, comedy, children’s theatre, community, one-man show, puppetry and panto have come into the mix along with seasons of classical theatre.

After meeting Nick on the theatre production of "Pillow Man", directed by John Hales. Mario & Lesley were eager to ask Nick to join them on the "Folk-a-Dilly Tales" project.

Suzanne Arnold is a "Travelling Wise Woman" and storyteller from East Anglia in the UK. Also known as Suzanne the Storyweaver, she has been fascinated by stories – folktales, myths and legends, since she was a child. As an avid reader she had an overactive imagination which bound her into the fields of community and creative arts for almost 40 years!

Originally telling stories through theatre and street performance, story making workshops in schools and as a puppeteer, she morphed into a professional storyteller in 2007.  Suzanne says "what a journey it has been and continues to be".

Mario and Lesley, met Suzanne, at one of her Storytelling events and invited her to come and tell some of the tales they had created for "Folk-a-Dilly Tales". Luckily she agreed.
